Flyer with ultrasonic control for constant tension
A magnetic particle brake is mounted on the flyer of the shown payoff to be adjusted with a decreasing torque when the spool gets empty. For this an ultrasonic sensor is detecting the increasing distance to the unwinding surface and by means of this the electronic control unit is giving less current to the flyer brake that takes care for constant tension of the wire. Periodic variations of the tension are equalized by the tension compensator arm.

The Payoff is equipped with a glasfibre-flyerarm that is driven by an AC-motor. Control of the motor by a 4 Q control unit and frequency inverter.
